Fall color tour, of sorts

This time last week I was enjoying a lovely few days in Roanoke, va. Drove down, solo, for a visit to my brother, his wife, and my nieces (Erin & Cammon) and nephew (Patrick). The colors of Autumn were breath-taking. My heart felt so full, as if to burst, as I drove from Michigan to Virginia, through Ohio and West Virginia, and came around many curves in the, sometimes mountainous, roads revealing more oranges, reds, yellows, intermingled with greens and browns, around each bend. As I drove I sang with and listened to dozens of albums of various tunes. Some of my favorites were josh garrels, jack johnson, kristian stanfill, johnny cash, hillsong, and rend collective, to name a few. Sometimes I'd let it play through 2 or 3 times. And I prayed. And did some thinking. Jesus and I had many conversations. My heart is thankful for the days with family, and also for the solitude. After all it was 20 hours alone driving round trip. My car gained 1,200+ miles and she loved the adventures too. Autumn is my very favorite season. Such joy to partake in the daily beauty displayed by papa God at this time of year.
