Day 3 - July 4

Last night, for dinner, I had my first ever pastie (a pastie is a large to medium sized "pie" filled with meat and potatoes.) with "yupper gravy" (aka ketchup). Mine had beef, potatoes, & rutabaga in it. Bob and Sue picked it up for me from Lehto's (best pasties in town...so far). Well, I have to say, it was delicious! Definitely hearty. A pastie is a staple meal here in the U.P.

I was able to get to church yesterday morning, with Bob and Sue. Weather was gorgeous all day. After some cleaning (2 motel rooms and 1 cabin), headed over to the beach. more reading and sunning...

July 4th. Fireworks enjoyed from harbor downtown St. Ignace. prior to the show we had gone out for pizza and drink at B.C.'s Pizza - "best in town". chose bbq chicken; yum. walked along state st. downtown. talking.

home to bed then, almost midnight. tired, and wanting to be ready for a new day in the morning...
