God is good!

About 11 months ago my Dad was let go from his job.
He had had that job since I was a baby, so for 20 yrs.
It was my 21st birthday in fact the day he was let go.
This news was hard. I was in shock when my Dad told me.
I still remember where I was when he informed me.
It was a Monday evening, Dec 1st, and I was upstairs at the computer.
I was looking forward to going out to dinner that night for my birthday.
Then Dad came in and said "well, I have something to share with you...
today I lost my job."
I didn't know what to think or say. I sat on his lap & cried.

My Dad and Mom, by God's strength & grace alone, responded amazingly in this situation.
They have been such a testimony to me of having faith in God during tough/trying times.
And trusting in God, even when life hurts.
God really worked in this situation.
I have seen Him strengthening my faith and helping me to understand
what it means to trust God even when my circumstances are hard. I believe He is working through these hard times... His plan is perfect!
Even though it often does not make sense to us, His plan is for our ultimate good. He takes delight in us and wants good things for us. We have to always remember that truth.
HE has been providing abundantly for our needs. As a family, we have seen Him provide for us in unique ways.
Dad has been working in his own home office launching/expanding his own business.
We have been able to spend time together during lunch time or other times that used to not be possible because he would be at work all day.
Many other blessings have arisen in little and big ways through this period of life.

It hit me this morning when I woke up... I cried.... tears of joy, thankfulness, sadness, & happiness all at once. I got down and prayed, thanking my heavenly Father for the parents He has given me and how they have loved me, cared for me, and especially as I thought about this whole situation I thanked the Lord for how much I have learned from my parents in how they have responded to this big life change. What a testimony of God in their life, and mine as well.

God is good. He is faithful to meet our needs and give us our daily bread.

Thank you Dad & Mom... I LOVE YOU!
And thank you Lord for showing Yourself to me through my parents.

"Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies." Psalm 36:5
