2009.

Happy New Year everyone!
How did you spend New Year's Eve?
My family & I welcomed in the new year
of 2009 at our dear friends the Jagts home
out in the lovely wooded area of Howell, MI.
There we arrived around 7 in the evening and
were warmly greeted. The evening was spent
chatting & fellowshipping, playing the game
Apples to Apples,
enjoying some delicious food (and even birthday
cake for Ann's 50th!), many of us shared some musical
delights and shared some songs on our instruments or in singing,
and then we ended the lovely night with the countdown til 2009 & some
champagne to toast the new year! It was an incredibly enjoyable night,
filled with MUCH laughter!!

The next day I headed up north to Cadillac, MI area with Liz, a friend of mine.
We spent the next few days at a LOGOS retreat where we both met many new people, played games of various sorts (like spoons, catch phrase, & musical chairs), listened
to a wonderful speaker share with us about God's sovereignty and providence, we discussed what we learned in our small groups, and Friday we all enjoyed a day-away activity...I chose skiing! I had wanted to try it for a while and jumped at the chance. So, after I fell a couple times I started to get the hang of it, and loved it! A girl I'd met the previous day named Bethany was skiing for the first time as well, so we stuck together the whole day, and really enjoyed the time together. I came away with only one bruise and look forward to the next chance I get to go again. :)

Today is Jan 13th and it's my first day back to classes after the Christmas break. Today went really well. I'm already excited about my new classes and profs and what I'll learn over the next few months. Of course there will be stresses, etc. but I'm so thankful for this new year, new semester, new day, and all the things God will teach me this year!

Last week I was invited by a friend of mine (Liz) to join Bible Study Fellowship (BSF)...it's a class that goes through different bible studies each year meeting once a week and also having fellowship times...I'd been looking for something like this to be a part of or thinking of starting my own group, so it was perfect timing. I love it so far..have already met some neat girls & guys and learned more about the life of Moses, which is what we're going though in the bible study this year. So, thank You LORD for opening the way to join BSF, thanks for Liz telling me about it. thank You for the people I could already meet, what I've already learned through the study, and I eagerly look forward to what You will continue to reveal to me through the study of Your holy word!

Well, it is getting late folks, and I have to be up early to babysit in the morning...so adios and goodnight. Love, P
